Leighty’s career in the banking industry spans over 35 years beginning 1980 at Montecito Bank and Trust when it was only $40 million in assets with 40 employees. She was Senior Vice President/HR Director there for over 14 years before being promoted to Branch Administrator where she managed the banks five south coast branches. She was recruited by the American Riviera Bank’s founders in May of 2005 to help open a new community bank in Santa Barbara.
Leighty is involved in non-profits including the Santa Barbara Athletic Roundtable, The Center for Successful Aging, The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County, and Women’s Executive Network.
